First session of three in the Absolute Beginners Water Colour Essentials

When we sit back and allow the paint and water to show us the way, while all the time we remain alert and aware, the painting becomes its unique expression of a never to be repeated, glorious work of art.

And then .... with beating hearts they began.... and just look at what came out.

Last day of the Absolute Beginners Workshop and we accomplished a great deal. I am so proud of Jenny, Dave, Annabel and June for their willingness to LET GO and launch themselves into the delicious randomness of water colour painting.

Paintings of houses almost done - I am so proud of these exceptional beginners.
Look how pretty - practice brush stokes and saving whites exercise ....
We used masking tape, lifting with the brush and also with stencils, masking fluid, and uneven wet surfaces to save whites.
We also experimented with coarse salt to create interesting water marks and textures.
